New Friends

Today, I was cleaning up my room.

I heard a knock at the door... but not my door, the front door...

"Huh... I wonder who it could be?"

At the door were two girls that I'd never seen before...

"Um... Hello? We were told that a girl our age  lived here, and we wanted to introduce ourselves. I'm Annabeth, and this is my sister, Zoë."

"Oh! Well, I'm Dakota. Why don't you step inside?"

Once they stepped inside, I told them a bit more about myself.

"Well, I'm Annabeth, as I said. Um... Well, we're here because of our father's work, and, well... My favourite colour is purple, I do both dance and swimming, as well as running some. I like horses, but I don't get many chances to ride." She smiled at me.

"I'm Zoë, as you know, and I... Well..." Zoë had a soft voice with an accent... not quite anywhere that I could place. "My favourite colour is white, and I don't do many sports."

"I'm sorry if this seems rude, but... well, you two don't look much like sisters..."

"No, it's not rude. We get this question a lot." Annabeth said. You see, Zoë was adopted from India about two years ago, so that's why. Zoë actually has an Indian name, too. Asa, which means hope in Hindi."

Annabeth, Zoë, and I chatted some more. They seem like really awesome girls. I invited them over tomorrow afternoon, and they said that they were free. I love having new friends!

My New Dresser!!

Ella was looking around, and found this awesome dresser around the house, and it's the perfect size for us!

The drawers are really nice and large.

The design is super unique, and the handles are really nice.

It fits perfectly in the room, and has enough space on top. 

Ella was also able to find a small mirror and put it on top.

On the bottom drawer, there is Emily's stuff, plus a cloth...

And if you pull it WAY out, you find my detective kit! I have two large batteries, a wrench, a flashlight, scissors, and a safety pin, perfectly sized for me.

The next drawer I have my pyjamas in, and the cool thing is, I actually get to have my own pyjamas !

But, something that's even cooler, is that I get to have my own clothes!! I have to keep them neat and let the others borrow them, but still!!

Anyway, I'm super excited!!

Does anyone know how to add in borders for the pictures?

We have a lot to catch up on...

And believe me, a whole new blog thing isn't the start of it. However, that will have to wait till a later post...

And the pictures are bigger, and there is still a lot of work to do.

Looking for American Girl Doll Sized Stuff

Hey! It's Ella here, and I'm doing a quick post before I go to pick my mom up from the Airport. When you look for stuff for your American girl doll, there are a few things to keep in mind. You don't need to get all of your stuff from American Girl. Of course, their stuff are the cream of the crop, but it's fine to look elsewhere.
Second thing: You always have to keep your eyes open. Like when I went shopping for a gift for a friend at a crafts store, I saw this chest of draws that was PERFECT for dolls!! However, it was forty-two dollars. Rats and mice. Well, you get my point.
Third thing: Get creative with stuff you have! Blankets can be folded to make bedding, and washcloths can be towels. Just look, and I'm sure you can find stuff.

Do You Feel like you know me?

Because I sure don't! Well, I mean, besides the fact that I am me.
My name is Siarra Dakota Jade, but Siarra is pronounced just like Sierra, but Ella likes unique names. Most people call me Dakota. My favourite colour is iris, the Greek word for rainbow. I love bananas, especially banana cookies. I love apple cider, and I'd like to learn French. Hermione has sort of spurred that interest in me, what with her being half French. I love the smell and look of lavender, and I'd really love to have a vase of lavender in my bedroom. I'd love to have an actually nice bed, and a large bedroom. I'm going to be unschooled next year, and I just found out that Hermione is as well. Jasper is my best friend, and I couldn't imagine life without her. I love wishing, and hoping. I'm a definite dreamer, and I like reading. My dream bedside table would have a bottle of lotion, pictures of my friends and family, a hairbrush, the current book I'm reading through, a box of tissues, and my journal and pen.

How To Make An "Email" For Your Doll

And I do not mean to go onto gmail and make new emails. There is an easier way. However, you already have to have a Google account. Go into Google Drive, and push the Create button. Push the Document button, and go on to that document. Before I began, I looked through the handwriting samples, and all of us found the one that is most like our own. Here is a screen shot of it.

After you decide that, then you are ready to make the "email". In the font box, get the font that you chose, and get a size of font that's comfortable for you. Then, using something like this layout, write up your email. Even though we use our real names to send it, we use our nicknames to sign it.

To send it, you've got to copy and paste it into another doc to the doll you want it to be sent to. I would then title your document something like this, with your doll's name at the beginning:

Felicity's Birthday Party

I was hoping to do this over the weekend, but it didn't work out. Anyway, I'm going to do it now! :)

 Yes, this is me! I loved the hairstyle that I did for the Civil War Story, so I had Ella do that on me again.

 This dress has really nice lace at the front, neck, and sleeves, and the material is a really nice satin/silk thing.

 I love the tights and shoes with this outfit.

 My hair had a little side bun, which was super cool. :)

 Felicity dared Jasper to make this dress look cool. It's really big, and loose, and doesn't look that nice on anyone... but Jasper succeeded!

 There is a modern-old-fashioned crossover here, with leggings, and old boots.

 Sorry, the flash went crazy here! Anyway, Jasper used a sash to tie it.

 Jasper simply used a zebra print rosette clip for her hair.

 Kirstin had her hair down, and used this nice dress.

 The detailing on the bodice.

 There was a last minute change of plans for Kit's outfit.

 There are these cool bead/bubble things that give some detailing.

 And these gem/beads at the bottom.

 Her hair was simply pulled back from a claw clip.

 And Felicity's dress!

 She didn't show any of us this one.

 There were some cool roses at the bottom.

Felicity was going to do this French waterfall braid, but it didn't work out, and she settled for a French braid.

Felicity received many gifts, which I did not photograph, but I got her a cool photo album.

It's a bit big, but really cute. Jasper gave her a free ice skating pass, good for fifteen times, and Kit and Kirstin teamed up to buy her a new baseball glove, and a new shirt.
